  1. Nice contrast between the B&W image and the colorful video. Can you post the photo in color?

  2. That is soooo beautiful, I want to be there. Where is there?

  3. tag-i never took the photo in color, just b&w. if there is a way to do that, i'm just enough technologically challenged to not know how. i have a different shot in color, but it's not very good.

cc-first creek, red rock nat'l conservation area. come any time! i almost fell in taking that, and other, shots.

  4. I needed to cook my words so they'd actually say what I meant ~ trying here. What I like in the pics of yesterday and today is that you can photograph certain things (ice, water, metal, glass come to mind) and make other things appear that aren't actually there, like fire, or water or ice where it isn't really present. I hope that makes sense. Trying to say the illusion is very exciting once we know what we're looking at and realize the illusion IS an illusion. Very nice work.

Re: Your Eliot Porter quote. I gave my (photographer) Dad a gift of Porter's photos from Maine (where Dad lives). He loves the work contained in that book.

  5. lm-well said, and thank you. i think there is more possibility in illusion than in the labels we apply to things.
i'm (slowly) making my way through a book called "the tao of photography." it has wonderful quotes, as well as wonderful photos. it often inspires me when i'm feeling dull.
