  2. tag-some people see the world in a grain of sand, i see the universe in glass. that top pic looks like the starship enterprise to me, kinda, speaking of galaxies.

  3. Top picture looks like strange ink flowing out of a other-worldly pen underwater.

I have every CD ever made with Eva Cassidy on it. Also, her biography. Such a loss to have her die so young.

  4. kass-i love that photo. i think it's one of the best i've done. eva had a voice and a half, and only half a life.

  5. One of my daughters is passionate about Eva C. I've been so absorbed by her premature death that I can almost not bear to hear her singing sometimes. I cannot bear such untimely loss. Your images here offer some comfort. Isn't that the aim of art, to comfort or to provoke. Maybe sometimes even both.

  6. The first photo has a real Asian/Japanese substance to it! It really holds my attention. The second photo looks to me like a woman's torso filled with the life of the stars, galaxies and an occassional skull....It takes me places.... like it alot!

  7. It does have some lines of the enterprise. I didn't notice I was busy looking at the borg ship in the second picture.
I haven't followed Eva Cassidy's career that closely. I didn't become a fan until just the last few years when I became enthralled with her powerful voice. She is surely something special. Lovely and extremely talented. She is missed.

  8. elisabeth-eva's voice fills me with wonder. it's a reminder, that we just don't know.

the aim of art-now there's a question! i'd love to hear more of your thoughts on this. most artists i know do art because they are driven to, from the inside out. i don't know if they have an aim, other than to express what is begging to be expressed.
i have to think on my own reasons.

because-yes, it has that feel to me as well. i love hearing what people see the photos, everyone has a different eye. and thanks for chiming in-you know how much value your input.

    tag-resistance is futile.
eva cassidy was very big in the dc area-played at blues alley and other locals. she was just beginning to hit it big when she died.
