whatever is rattling around my brain that makes it out my fingers. may contain bad poetry, decent photographs (all mine unless otherwise noted, and therefore copyrighted), yoga rants, and general silliness.
I can't see the words calla lily without thinking of Katharine Hepburn. "The calla lilies are in bloom again. Such a strange flower -- suitable to any occasion. I carried them on my wedding day, and now I place them here in memory of something that has died." --as Terry Randall in STAGE DOOR (1937).
Those photos are incredibly beautiful. I especially like the second one. What is your background? A wall? And how did you get the background to be black in the first one?
kass-i have the same association with calla lilies. i'm glad you like the photos. yes, the background is a wall, and i have no idea why it was black in the first photo. that happens occasionally. just a lucky convergence of light, f stop, angle, whatever. sometimes it shows up as blue or green.
Oh those sweet, sweet horns, it's kind of blue but hard to be melancholy. Miles Davis at his best with great players accompanying. Where "The Pictures of Lilly" in honor of the Who at the superbowl (lol)
What wonderful, sensuous photos. They go well with the blues.
