how, and for what, to be thankful

i'm not a big fan of the pilgrims, but i am a big
fan of a day (that would be every day) dedicated to
being thankful for what we have.
'cause we have a lot.
here's a partial list.
feel free to add on.

  1. happy thanksgiving,rr.

  2. ...Keith Richards

  3. tr-and a happy gobble to you!

okatb-all that and more, yes. light, the desert, socks, red wine...

  4. "May your stuffing be tasty
    May your turkey plump,
    May your potatoes and gravy
    Have nary a lump.
    May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
    And may your Thanksgiving dinner
    Stay off your thighs!"

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving day :)

  5. gabi-all the best to you, and i hope you're over that flu!

  6. One reason I'm fascinated with old movies or old books or old music or what-have-you isn't because I have any desire to live in any other time than what I'm living in now. It's just that if you find something in the past that can still be appreciated, still be enjoyed, then that you've found something that's transcended time, and finding that means that there's hope for whatever time we find ourseves stuck in, and we don't have to be passive, victims of mere fashion or changes in taste. So I'm thankful for that.

And, of course, your quirky little blog.

    Happy belated Thanksgiving.

  7. Quirky little blog. I like that.

  8. kirk-there is never any reason to feel/be passive. we all transcend time, space, and anything else we care to mention. either we act or we languish.

kirk and kass-why do i feel like i've been patted on the head, and sent to the kid's table?

  9. "why do i feel like i've been patted on the head, and sent to the kid's table?"

Apropos to a conversation we were having at my blog, this may be an example of my boorishness.

I didn't mean to sound condescending. I meant quirky in the best possible sense, that you're imaginative, that you seem to follow your own drummer.

  10. kirk-nope, not boorish at all. we're just fine-tuning our communications. i didn't indicate that i was laughing when i posted that, either! no harm, no foul.
as for following my own drummer, yes. i still don't know which band we're in!
