it was a dark and stormy night
the winds howled their greed, the wolves howled their need, the moon told them how.

This name goes back to revolutionary times when the colonists and the Algonquin tribes would await the arrival of the beaver moon to know it was time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze in order to have a sufficient supply of warm winter fur.
