the color of the dead...
the color of the dead
is not gray.
the light shows through the dimming day. breathe in light, breathe out the same. the color of the dead is not gray.
There is a famous poem, and I cannot remember the author or the title, but it runs along the lines that lilies of the filed that fester smell worse than weeds.
It came to mind as I considered your images here and your words. Thanks.
gabi-the paralysis began to ebb as soon as i saw your comment yesterday. and yes, the light continues.
elisabeth-i have a bunch of lilies on my table right now. the smell is so strong it sometimes drives me out of the room. the author of that poem knew whereof s/he spoke! thank you for dropping in.
I love the subtlety of the colors blending from one to the other . Then I get smacked right in the face by your poetry. Elisabeth, thats a line from Shakespeare but I can't remember from what.
Where did this come from? It says February 19th. The poem is great. The color of the dead is not gray. Your poetry is simple and profound.
ReplyDeletekass-this wasn't supposed to show up 'til tomorrow! i screwed up the dates. i've been working on this since 2/19. the poem gave me fits.
ReplyDeleteThe color of the dead is not grey, because God pours life into death and death into life without a drop being spilled.
ReplyDeleteThe color of the dead is not grey, since dead is just a new beginning…
Standing I saw your comment on Kass blog, you touched my heart with it. Thank you!
I hope you get out soon of that paralysis… but for now appreciate it and see which signs are there for you.
