beginner's mind
i went back and looked at some of my (relatively) old photos. these are some of my first efforts. i like to see where i came from. that would be baltimore. or the stork brought me. or under a cabbage leaf. or rejected by aliens. yeah, that one.
i've been thinking too much. or not enough. how do you tell the difference?
boy, kass,i suspect i've been thinking with only one hemisphere lately. maybe that's why my creativity has gone awol. and you're not trying-you're doing!
tag, light is what i'm drawn to. and yet, i've been taking photos with less and less light apparent light. i might be looking to find the subtle light, that infuses us all. what do you think?
Umm, this is the third time I've tried to post a comment... Beginner? These are wonderful; good light, good subject, good composition. Everything is right about these.
okatb-oh my, thanks. i took these last july (maybe?) when i was fresh to it. i've lost some of that fresh eye. beginner's mind is buddhist, the ability to approach something newly, yet with the experience gained. i think i'm trying too hard now.
Great song. The color in these photos is stunning. Somehow, the shadows have a sadness that informs me.
ReplyDeleteIf I could figure out the thinking condumdrum, I wouldn't be trying to write poetry.

ReplyDeleteand you're not trying-you're doing!
Any aliens that would reject you aren't from an advanced civilization.
ReplyDeletekirk-such a sweetheart you are! hey, think maybe we're from the same planet?
ReplyDeleteOnce again it is your work in light I find fascinating. Reflection and refraction through different media. The colors are striking.

ReplyDeleteGreat photos and wonderful music. I love Emmy Lou Harris's singing. This one - Mexico - chokes me up. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteelisabeth, thank you and you're welcome. this song choked me up, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm still looking for my planet.
